We raise Shetland and Babydoll Sheep by the practice of Management Intense Grazing (MIG).  This means they are rotated through pastures to graze on fresh grass.  As they are eating in one pasture, the other pastures are left to rejuvenate and regrow, eventually, re-entering the feeding rotation.  This provides you with the opportunity to buy premium, dry aged, all natural, grass-fed lamb, processed in a USDA inspected facility and packaged just  for you!

Please watch this video https://youtu.be/4Z75A_JMBx4 for an even deeper explanation of how MIG benefits our planet.

Hope you enjoy these pictures of our Baad Woolies....

Please scroll down for more information on them.
OK....our sheep aren't really THAT baaad.  Even if they do figure out how to get through the fence we just fixed a week ago.  They are beautiful and curious and love grazing the hillsides and pastures here at Riverdale Ridge. . .
They certainly do flock together and so seldom is one into something without at least a couple of accomplices!  We raise Shetland and Babydoll Southdown sheep for their wool and meat.  To learn more about the breeds, please visit the following websites;

We are taking reservations for lamb meat that will be available in the Fall.  Each whole lamb must be reserved for $100.00 with the "Balance Due" at the time of processing.  The total cost is based on market price at the time of processing.  Please see the attached approximate cost sheet for details.
Approximate Cost
We are also taking reservations for individual whole raw wool fleeces.  Each of our ewe's fleeces are pictured here (sorry we are updating pics and they will be available soon).  You can request a specific ewe's fleece you would like (i.e. Pearl's fleece) and each one can be reserved for $25.00 with the balance due after shearing.  Of course, the lamb fleeces will be different each year, but we will try to keep updated pictures available for all of them.  Please just be aware that a Shetland lamb's fleece color usually changes as it grows.  It may start out all black when it is born, but slowly become gray or white as it grows.  We will be glad to send you a picture of it just prior to shearing to be more accurate.

Please hit the "CSA Sign Up Sheet" button to reserve your lamb meat or wool.
Thank you.
